UC Riverside students are invited to join a multidisciplinary team participating in the SAE CivicProgress Challenge, a two-year student competition focused on developing accessible transportation technologies for an autonomous vehicle platform.
Beginning in fall 2026, the UCR team will design and validate accessibility systems for the GM Origin, with a focus on improving mobility and accessibility for wheelchair users. Students will have the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to solutions with real-world impact.
Eligibility: UCR students at any academic level
Project period: Fall 2026 through spring 2028. Students may join at any time during this period.
